Planning Commission suggests approval with additional conditions

On June 5th the planning commission unfortunately voted to recommend approval of our primary case RZR2018-00004 off June Ivey and Indian Shoals with additional conditions. Keep in mind that this is after the planning department staff recommended denial of this case because OSC is not suitable zoning for our area, and because the land IS economically viable to develop as it is currently zoned!

We have now obtained the written conditions and they leave a lot to be desired. Our most recent site plan included a 75 ft buffer around the entire property, but the written conditions only provide for a 50 ft buffer. The biggest red flag is that they have not specified any number of houses that could be built on this property, which means that by shifting the plan around, the developer could fit more houses in!

We are still waiting on an updated site plan with less than a week to go until our case is expected to be heard by the Board of Commissioners. Whatever the outcome, we have made a difference, and that is a big deal in the government of rubber stamps and business as usual. Let us know if you have questions!
